Preppy Polo Party

A few months ago I planned and styled my own son Luca's christening/

first birthday. I was honoured when recently it was 

featured on Hostess With The Mostess. I was so ecstatic to see 

it there and also have it so well received by all. 

Party Details

The party was a combined christening and 1st birthday for Luca. The theme I chose was a “Preppy Polo” party, which took inspiration from Ralph Lauren. We kept the style simple, sophisticated, clean lines and fresh colours of navy blue and dark green.

We had a marquee set up in the yard complete with artificial grass and tables were set up to resemble a polo match luncheon. The tables were draped in gorgeous fitted blue tablecloths and gorgeous bunches of green foliage took center stage. The marquee ceiling was lined with silk, and the we also hung an international flag pennant to set the scene.

We had a little seating area with some cushions which was our pre-drinks and chatting area before lunch was served. The kids also used this area later on for drawing.

For our meal we served up some delicious canapes followed by a scrumptious BBQ lunch. For dessert we enjoyed the birthday cake, cupcake, cookies, macarons and lollies over at our sweets table. The children loved filling their boxes with lollies.
