Hello 2013 + 1st Birthday Party

Welcome 2013!!

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Years. I certainly had a nice break with the family and enjoyed every minute of it. We have been fairly quiet over here on the blog for a while now as we entered quite a busy period of parties and events, planning and of course working on the re-branding and new look of Little Sooti. Things are now going pretty smoothly and I hope to launch in the next month or so.

My first wedding for the year will be a fun, bright and eclectic theme being held at the Heide Museum of Art in February. This would have to be one of my favourite looks and I cannot wait to see it come together and share it with you all.

I have also made a commitment to myself to blog more in 2013 so I promise you will be seeing a lot more posts from me from my own events to inspiration which you all love.
First off, here is a 1st Birthday party I styled last year with a 'Tangerine, Peach and Blush' colour theme.

Pink & Gray Chevron Dessert Table

This is one of the sweetest tables I have seen in a while by Leo & Bella. The colours are so soft and romantic, very ethereal. Simplicity at it's best, just pure gorgeousness!!

This table is entered into the 'Aussie Party Design Challenge' over at the Tomkat Studio.
If you love it as much as I do, please pop on over via this link and comment to vote..

Such a gorgeous dessert table don't you think?

September 11, 2012

a little announcement....

Well what a gorgeous day we had in Melbourne today. The sun was shining and warm, a nice change from the cold and wet.

I thought I would write a long overdue post about the changes happening at Little Sooti and the direction we will be taking come 2013. Firstly, I have decided that I will be closing my online party ware store, this will happen in the next few weeks and I will notify via my Facebook page. Unfortunately, I am finding it very difficult to allocate much needed time to the store whilst event styling and looking after my little ones which are both under 3.5 years old!! There are many great online party ware stores out there with a great selection and I would be happy to recommend them to you all.

My true passion is Event Planning & Styling and come 2013, Little Sooti will be re-branding and gearing towards Weddings and Corporate/Private Events. This is something I have always wanted to do and I have big dreams and goals and very excited at the prospect of it all. I feel event styling children's occasions is great and I still love it, but I have so much more creativity I want to unleash and which is marketed more towards an adult eye.

This means a slightly new name and completely new look and feel!! I am so excited that my gorgeous friend Li-Ann of Ham and Pea will be designing for me as she knows me well and will bring my vision to life. Can't wait!! BUT there is more, Little Sooti will still be present and be a sub-section of the business (think Country Road and Country Road Kids) he he.. I still have a soft spot for the kiddies, after all this is where I began my journey 3 years ago!!

I have a very busy few months ahead of me with some gorgeous events coming up that I cannot wait to create and then share with you...

My blog will still be here and I will continue to share with you anything and everything that is pretty and stylish!!!

I hope you continue to follow my journey as I venture into the big business and I am so grateful you have all stuck by me all this time!!!

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to drop me an email to info@littlesooti.com.au

Until next time,

Neon Baby Shower

Hope you all had a lovely weekend. So sorry for the lack of posts of late. I promise I will be picking up the pace alot more from now on. Lots of lovely and exciting things to share and show you all.

Now, I love myself a little neon and a little contemporary design and this next party by Mariana of Yum Eventos is no exception. I just love all the little details, and especially loving the heart shape (thumbtack and string) backdrop. Something I've been wanting to give a go myself!!

Party details as told by Mariana from Yum Eventos (Argentina).
I wanted to share this baby shower I put together for a very intimate get together for a glowing mommy to be with this fashion forward and trendy NEON party. Fun fluorescence! Mixed with bold brights, CHEVRON pattern, saturated STRIPES and washi tape details.

I styled it together with bright whites and a contrasting neutral beige so that the colors would pop even more. As well as Neon washi tape accents to coordinate with the graphic decor from
La Feliz Celebrations.

The dessert table included sparkling water (H2oh baby).  Mini glasses with striped straws and coordinating flags.  Triangle shaped brownies to go with the chevron pattern on the invites.  Delicious lemon cupcakes with meringue topping.  Dulce de Leche Alfajores, a typical Argentinian tasty treat.  The backdrop was created with a neon string heart, tassels in neon, brown and a bright turquoise.  All put together with a neutral background (very simple kraft paper! total DIY).

Favors: Wrapped in mini clear glassine bags with a coordinating printable tag was a tassel jewelry piece that could be used as a bracelet or a cute accent necklace served as the favors for the party and were arranged as part of the table setting.

Have a great week ahead everybody xoxox
