guest blog: party basics 101

A good party becomes a great party just by following a few simple rules.

Today, we look at rule number 1: Carry your theme through every part of your party.

Whatever your theme may be, you will be able to use a motive, pattern or colour that ties in with it. Incorporate this one idea from your invitations to your tablesetting. Make your food look the part as well as taste delicious and don't forget some take home gifts for your guests.

I am a huge fan of Amy Atlas and she does it so well. Amy has the ability to turn any party into a work of art. Pink and yellow isn't the first colour combination that comes to mind when I think party, but Amy manages to do it with such style.

The use of pink and yellow diamonds is easily done by using a print, possibly the inspiration for the theme.

Love these little cookie parcels.

This dessert buffet table is just gorgeous. A yellow tablecloth, a scattering of pink and yellow desserts and the diamond cake is certainly the highlight!
