little. lovely.
When did you launch your blog?
6th August 2009
How did you choose your name for your blog?
Little. lovely. is a collection of lovely ideas for little people and I felt it was important that the name reflected what the blog was about. I also call my two children my little
lovelies, so the choice of name seemed appropriate.
What is your current position/career? (where?)
I'm a work at home mother to Hunter (2 years) and Charlotte (7 months). I run an online retail store called Ma Mere
What was your inspiration for starting your blog?
I've always had a love of beautiful aesthetics and great design. When I was young, I was happiest when I had a box of coloured pencils and a sketchbook at hand. I hoped then (and still do today) that creativity would always play a leading role in my life. I had been planning to start a blog since 2004, but never found the time. In August last year, one of my favourite children's blogs, Bloesem Kids, advertised for Craft Contributors. I was selected, along with three other bloggers and it seemed like a perfect time to start my own blog.
What is your favourite part of blogging?
By far, my favourite part of blogging is the abundance of inspiration that greets me every morning from talented bloggers around the world.
How many hours a day would you say you work on your blog?
I spend an hour in the morning reading posts from my favourite blogs via Google Reader and another hour or so writing posts at night. My husband jokes that blogs are my one and only vice.
What is your goal for your blog in the next 12 months?
I have some exciting plans for little.lovely. over the next twelve months but in the
immediate future I'm focusing on producing content worthy of our tagline
- lovely ideas or little people.
What are your top 3 online blogs at the moment?
Bloesem Kids
Eat Drink Chic
Style me Pretty
And some questions for a bit of fun:
What is your favourite movie of all time?
Sabrina. I watched it three times back to back when I was fourteen years old and have loved it ever since.
Where was the last place you travelled?
We visited England in March of last year to see Mike's family. I was six months pregnant flying with a thirteen month old toddler. Needless to say, the experience put both Mike and I off overseas travel for a while.
What's the one thing you want to do but are too scared to?
Nothing! When I was in my early twenties, I wrote a list of all the things that terrified me (singing in public, going to a movie alone, skinny dipping) and then set about doing
them all. It was totally liberating and Ive never been afraid of anything
since.
